Silke and Michael

Please join us for our wedding celebration on

Boy Meets Girl

Our story began on a beautiful, yet chilly winter morning in 2010 when Michael strolled in late to Physics 102, after braving the elements on the long walk from Harnwell to the DRL. He came prepared with a laptop and a smile 😎, but luckily, he didn't have a pen. After scanning the room, he found Silke, and used his suave nature and winning personality to coax her out of her backup. (In reality, she just felt bad for him, and was nice enough to lend him one 😅 ). This was followed by many long walks through the Penn medical campus (which may or may not be classified as mild stalking), random Chipotle and Sitar meals, and lengthy G-chat conversations, all of which would lay the foundation for our relationship.

Together, we've traveled to new countries ✈, flown thousands of miles to see each other for weekend getaways, boogied to some salsa and bachata 💃, shared a few hundred pints of Ben & Jerry's ice-cream 🍦(seriously, we should be part of their marketing campaign!), quarantined during a global pandemic, bought a house, and have had multiple disagreements on how to best represent events on our shared Google calendar...I think Silke's going to win that argument 😂

Almost 12 years after our first friend date on April 8th 2010, we're still the best of friends, and we wanted to share our day with all the people who have supported us along the way. We look forward to seeing you there! 🤗

✈ Getting To & Around Philly!

Flying In?
For our guests flying in, you can catch a flight into the Philadelphia International Airport (airport code PHL).

Getting Around

If you decide to come to Philly early or stay a while after the wedding, it's pretty easy to get around the city via Uber/Lyft, Indego Bikes, or walking. Keep in mind that Uber/Lyft are readily available in the city, but it may get pricey if you're ride-sharing to and from Morris Arboretum.

Getting to the Venue

The wedding venue is about 30 minutes outside of the city without traffic, but about an hour with traffic (which is likely given the day and time of the wedding). With that in mind, it would be best to rent a car or carpool for the day of the wedding if you're staying in the city.

Where To Stay

There are many great Airbnb and hotel options in the city depending on your preferences, but for those who'd prefer to stay closer to the venue, we've gotten a discount for our guests at the Marriot Philadelphia West in Conshohocken. It is approximately a 15 minute drive from our event location, Morris Arboretum.

111 Crawford Avenue
West Conshohocken, Pennsylvania
19428 USA

You can make a reservation for the event directly with the Marriot at (215) 616-8500 or on the Marriot Philadelphia West website. On the website click Book Your Stay. Once the new page appears, click on Add Code, then select Group Attendee, and enter the Group Code COAPR8. The code is only valid for April 7th through the 9th.

Regarding Safety

We are kindly requesting proof of a negative COVID test from all of our guests (regardless of vaccine status). Tests must be taken 48-72 hours before Friday, April 8th and results must be received before April 8th to be able to attend. Inexpensive home testing kits are available at your local pharmacy. We request that each guest who wishes to attend the event, kindly submit a separate test result. We understand this is an inconvenience, but thank you for your consideration of the health and safety of everyone attending. Please reach out with any questions.

The safety and well-being of our guests is our utmost concern, which is why we decided on having an entirely outdoor ceremony (weather permitting) and tented reception. If you are not feeling well for any reason, please do stay home and we will celebrate with you another time 😊.

If you RSVP 'yes' and decide later that you will not be able to attend for any reason, please let us know as soon as possible by emailing us at
